Rose is a Tarantula who left her job in the factory run by ants with Sophodra in Formicosa Apex. The reason why she does this is because she is miserable underground without the flowers.

Her personality is best described as a "polite empath." She can and does spot errors that others make but won't point them out due to deeming it "impolite." Rose is also very shy and not very outgoing in most situations. She has a very consistent reaction to put her "head in her hands" or her "cephalothorax in her pedipalps" in fear or horror.

Her name, "Rose" brings up a couple issues due to insect naming conventions. When Sophodra becomes confused and asks "Isn't that a child's name?" It is because in insect cultures they have plant-based names. This leads to much confusion due to Rose not being an insect and not being young. When she chose her adult name, she didn't have these naming conventions in mind.

Rose also has an advanced understanding of plant technology and interacting with plants. She is self-taught in the ways of engineering by studying an orchideo on her own time. This seems out of place due to the fact that tarantulas don't usually have an interest or connection to technology and plant life. This makes Rose unique not just for having an interest but an advanced understanding of the plant life and technology at play.

Biography

Early Life

Her early live was mostly uneventful. Everything was fine, safe and cozy except when the ants came along to exert their power and law. She was always interested into plants and flowers from a young age, learning about plants and flowers through an orchideo. Also through studying the orchideo, she figured out what flowers she could grow from parasitising the roots that were common in the subterranian environment.

Chosen Name

When she grew up, she was allowed to change her name. So she changed her name from "Harvey's Little Tarantula" to "Rose." Her and her sister, "Violet" chose their names in solidarity. Meaning that they chose the names they have for the rest of their lives together.

Factory Work

Rose starts off work in a factory run by ants, she expressed her inspiration and love of flowers and plants for the ants to explain that they think it wasn't a good use of her, so they put her to do factory work hauling modified mother-of-thousand plantlets back and forth in a small room, barely enough for her to stand comfortably in. It's very clear that she is depressed with the current state of her job.

Meeting Sophodra

After one day of the plants going haywire and dodging the wrecked plant machinery that Rose was using, she went to go explore. She found the panel was chewed up by "gubs." After sensing something, Sophodra found her. She immediately started to greet Sophodra and asks her what she's doing here. In the middle of asking, she starts to immediately panic and flicks a gub off of her. She cowers and explains how gross gubs are, especially "fire gubs". Sophodra gets annoyed and explains to Rose how "fire gubs" are humans, about how humans have brains and are a bigger threat than realized. A trap is sprung where Rose falls directly on Sophodra, and quickly scurries off when asked. She explains the fact that the ants would never let this happen, and gets it explained that an infestation can spread quickly. While Sophodra is trying to find a way out (and ultimately fails) Rose senses what's going on and senses the gubs surrounding the area. After seeing Sophodra capture the "Gubs" in the area, she sees Sophodra go on and have a scuffle with Vera, during so she tries to speak up and asking Sophodra if they need help, which gets cut off due to Sophodra screaming. After seeing Sophodra get caught, she opens a nearby fungal extrusion and releases the wall that Sophodra was caught in. After explaining how she isn't an engineer and just has a fascination for plants, and how there aren't many down in the B-1 complex. Sophodra asks if she's willing to work with her up on Formicosa Apex, in the city. It's implied she took the job and left her factory job behind.

Trivia

Rose's name is a reference to her species name, "Rose Hair Tarantula"

Rev Storm also validated these claims:

• The orchideo that was set up in Rose's room was custom ordered and set up by Rose, when she was having a hard time seeing it, she jury-rigged hers to provide light to see it.
• The orchideo piece that Rose is found watching is called, "Hunteriana and the Flower Princesses" and explains the struggle of wasps and their fights. It's Rose's favorite flower show.
• Rose is shockingly good at math, and not very impressed at Sophodra's math skills. She won't say anything about it though due to being polite.
