Chickens are very different in this universe and are more like starfishes in our current day. It has also been explained that chickens are not parasitoids.

Motile Stage

Chicken after has been in the roosting stage for a while they get up and start to wander around and scavenge for food. They also drop their head to reproduce in the motile stage.

Sessile Stage (Roosting)

They spend most of their life cycle in a sessile stage called "roosting." During this stage they latch onto a object and they raise their feathers and filter feed on protocules. What this can lead into is large areas of chickens in this universe roosting. This can lead to a hard time for other creatures like humans to move through fields of roosting chickens.

Ways to handle a Chicken Infestation

Sophodra explains a method to handle a chicken infestation by placing down a snail egg and letting the chickens crawl inside, but that seems to have unfortunate consequences. Currently there is not a clear method to get rid of this animal. Sophodra does exclaim its easier to take care of them in the "Roosting" or sessile stage.
