"We're not protocules, but to you, we are just..."big bugs."" - Gregorsa
Macrovolutes include roaches, beetles, flies, grasshoppers, and other insects. Macrovolutes also include arachnids like spiders, tarantulas, scorpions, harvestmen, mites, vinegaroons, amblypygids, and pseudoscorpions. Despite their differences, they are all macrovolutes. To themselves though, they are just people. They are the dominant "species" in Humans-B-Gone, and the primary focus of the show. They all share something called the bolecore, but it hasn't been explained what it is or how it works yet.
Macrovolutes are large, way larger than what our world would allow. They have found a way to sidestep the square-cube law. Due to the Unknown Nature, the square-cube law doesn't affect them like it does in our world.
Currently, we only see the macrovolutes living inside Tricularia.
Not much is known where they came from or how they are made. But we do know that they generally dislike vertebrates and treat them like pests. They actively use vertebraticides and make traps for vertebrates.
All of the information provided by macrovolutes comes from Gregorsa, He is slowly giving more and more information about macrovolutes over time.
